It looks as if Farmville and Angry Birds have created a lot of new gamers: consulting firm Parks Associates estimates 135M Americans now play video games for at least 1 hour/month, up from just 56M in 2008. 80% play free-to-play games on their PCs, while 17% have downloaded a smartphone game - figures that suggest there may be more growth left for Rovio than for Zynga (ZNGA).
