Improved underwriting results boost Cincinnati Financial


Total revenue of $1.15B up 11% from a year ago, led by earned premiums as investment income was about flat.

Book value per share of $35.51 up 6.1% YTD.

Combined ratio improves to 93.7 from 94.8 a year ago. Underwriting profit swings to a $173M gain in the first nine months of the year vs. a $23M loss for the same period in 2012.
