Thai shares fall amid political unrest

Thai shares (THD, TF, TTF) are hit hard by political turmoil, as the SET slides 2.8% in Bangkok to 1,388, well below the psychologically important 1,500 level.

Protesters staged rallies Sunday after one house of Thailand's parliament passed an amnesty bill for former Prime Minister (and billionaire) Thaksin Shinawatra who was unseated in 2006 in a military coup.

The bill would help clear Thaksin Shinawatra of corruption charges.
