Wealth management sales propel Manulife earnings

Q3 Core earnings of $704M vs. $570M a year ago.

Asia insurance sales of $251M "disappointing," coming in flat from Q2 and off 4% from a year ago, due largely to lower corporate products sales in Japan. Wealth sales of $1.3B, however, were up 21%.

Canadian wealth sales of $2.8B gained 33% Y/Y and U.S. Wealth sales of $6.7B were 37% higher.
