Cray misses by $0.24, misses on revenue

    Those are some big misses, but amazingly they are still reiterating their full year revenue outlook. However, they say that "A wide range of results remains possible for 2013." They say that hitting their outlook depends on a couple of large systems being accepted late in the fourth quarter.


    Frankly, considering the mess in the federal government, and the lack of budget, I very much doubt the government will be ordering new supercomputers until a new budget is agreed upon, which is unlikely to happen before the new january deadline. I am guessing we see another miss in Q4. But it is interesting how CRAY took the opposite tack from SGI when handling this government shutdown and the subsequent mess.


    At this point to hit their Q4 guidance, cray will have to show about 500% (!) qoq revenue growth, and 60% yoy revenue growth.
