Report: AMR and U.S. Airways have settled with DOJ

  • AMR (AAMRQ) and U.S. Airways (LCC +3.7%) are reported to be settling with the DOJ over the antitrust lawsuit filed by the government.
  • Airline stocks took off earlier this morning with word on a deal already leaking out.
  • The case was set to go to trial on November 25.

    OMG that stock has rocketed to 12.30 today. I was told to cease and desist trading it, or I'd be rich right now. Will add to it later.

    Divestitures....AMR will operate 44 fewer daily departure instead of 290 at DCA and 12 fewer daily departure instead of 175 at LGA,NY to get their proposed merger by DOJ.
