T-Mobile might use offering to buy spectrum; Ergen says deal still possible

In the prospectus for its 72M-share stock offering, T-Mobile USA (TMUS -3.4%) discloses it's "considering an acquisition of spectrum from a private party." No word on which company T-Mobile is thinking of buying from; bankrupt LightSquared is one possibility.

Separately, Charlie Ergen (DISH +5.2%) says a Dish/T-Mobile merger is still "on the table," as is a partnership with a U.S. mobile carrier. There has already been plenty of speculation about a tie-up between the companies in recent months, as Dish continues exploring options for making use of its valuable 4G spectrum.
