Chimera files to delay Q3 report

  • Surprising no one, Chimera Investment Group (CIM -0.7%) notifies the SEC and investors it will not be able to file its 10-Q for 2013 Q3 in a timely fashion.
  • The company filed its 2012 Q2 report just 2 weeks ago.

I wonder how much they get paid for ineptness?! Just think of the salary if they could do something right. But then again, nepotism needs no ability.

WOW, aren't they externally managed by the insiders at Annaly, just like Annaly is managed by the same people ?

Yet they still get paid on-time.

With the change in structure at NLY, aren't they managed by an entity for whom the previous managers worked for. With those kind of results, the external mangers(?) should get canned. But they own the company that manages them. Is that a convoluted set up or what!

It should be down-right criminal. Much comparison's to foreign dry bulk shippers that also operate under the same concept of related party dealings.

Often what you see is they set up separate companies and they do well for the individual managers part at the expense of the publicly traded part.

I wonder if there are any related party buys and sells of securities at less than market prices.

It's like Apple's Tim Cook managing a private company of say designers taken from Apple and than leased back to Apple for double or triple the costs all off-balance sheet.

Smells bad at CIM & NLY.
