Barclays compliance chief resigns

  • Hector Sants last month took a leave of absence due to exhaustion and stress and has now resigned his position as Barclays (BCS) head of compliance. The bank also announces the departure of its chief operations and technology officer Shaygan Kheradpir.
  • How much of a setback this is to new CEO Antony Jenkins' efforts to remake the bank's culture and improve compliance in wake of numerous legal issues remains to be seen.
