Dick's shows solid Q3 sales growth, 'selective' price cuts a factor

Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS) says comparable store sales rose 3.3% in the U.S. during Q3 with both the company's Dick's Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy brands growing sales at roughly the same clip.

The retailer says margins were slightly lower than anticipated due to "selective" pricing initiatives and some higher pre-opening costs.

E-commerce penetration for the quarter was 6.5%.

The company expects to see comp sales grow 3% to 4% in Q4. (PR)
