Public backlash against AT&T (T +0.5%) starts to stir up after the company slows down data speeds for its heaviest cellular users in order to better manage its network. Though the issue follows up on a previous warning from AT&T last year to its 17M unlimited data plan subscribers, it poses a threat to sales if consumers start tagging the carrier as the "slow" network.

ATT is redistributing bandwidth wealth away from the super rich data hogs to the 99% of users for whom a cell phone is a way to communicate...not a video drug designed to fill the emptiness in their lives. Go T!

Technically AT&T only sold "unlimited data" to iPhone 1 users, which uses EDGE, so for those grandfathered in, as long as AT&T allows "unlimited EDGE speed data" then they're not really breaking their promise

But then I know people who abuse it and use 10GB on their phone monthly and illegally tether their laptop... no wonder AT&T is angry

Forward any complaints to the FCC and DOJ due to blocking the T-Mobile deal.

    Long T.

HackFab, you got it right. ATT will not get over the T-Mobile deal without taking us suckers for the ride.

Maybe You guys haven't tried Verizon lately! the entire internet is bogged down because of the useless crap that is being broadcast, like Facebook and all the other chat rooms. I have used almost every provider available and they all slow down to less than dial up speed when the kids get home from school Friday afternoon.
