- Polycom (NASDAQ:PLCM) has hired Peter Leav, until recently the EVP of Industry and Field Operations for point-of-sale hardware giant NCR, its new CEO, effective immediately. Leav is also joining Polycom's board. (PR)
- Leav takes over a little over four months after Andrew Miller resigned as Polycom's CEO due to expense submission irregularities turned up by the videoconferencing hardware maker's audit committee. Chairman Kevin Parker has been serving as interim CEO since then.
- Leav takes over a company that's grappling with slowing demand for traditional videoconferencing hardware, as enterprises increasingly opt for cheaper software-based solutions that work with PC, smartphone, and tablet cameras.
