Safeway still has some work to do with sales of Dominick's stores

Safeway (SWY) still has over 50 Chicago-areas Dominick's stores to sell before December 28 after selling off a number to Roundy's, Jewel and Mariano's, according to the WSJ's Annie Gasparro.

The company has stated previously it would shutter any stores not sold by its self-imposed deadline.

Nobody is going to want the locations that suck. Those stores will just go dark. If company owned they can sell the RE, or if leased pay the lease until expiration. SWY is cutting their losses in the Chicago area.

I have been working with Dominick's for 22 years. No one will pay on what I make. I have to start from the bottom. It is a shame I thought my job was safe. No job is safe anymore!!!! It is also a shame they are not letting me or my co workers know if my store is closing or not!!!

I have been with Dominick's for 22 years. I thought I could retire from there. I guess you are not safe any where you work. It is shame no one will pay me what I made. Shame on them for not letting us know what is happening.
