Juniper acquiring network planning/management software firm for $60M

Juniper (JNPR) is acquiring WANDL, a provider of software that helps carriers design, manage, optimize, and provision services for their networks, for $60M in cash. WANDL will work with Juniper's OpenLab unit to help create "network-integrated applications." (PR)

Telecom equipment providers have become more interested lately in adding network planning/provisioning software to their product lines. Last year, Cisco bought Cariden, another player in this space, for over $141M.
