All EU goods and services whatever their purpose, function, country of origin and value should be covered by the same tobacco regulations if we are to have a functioning single market - why is it that only the tobacco industry is penalised for selling a legal product but all other products for sale are exempt

Little point in promoting free trade and the free movement of goods, services and people if member states will be allowed to impose punitive measures on a particular industry just because they dislike the product(s) they manufacture and sell

Does any of this involve e-cigs? I only ask because I see flavored tobacco on the release.

Who cares? Personally we have enough to worry about here with our current administration. The last thing I am going to worry about is what
    the EU Council decides.

1= what if the cigarette is not composed of tobacco leaf

2= what about product manufactured by XXII whose tobacco
has been altered biologically to have altered amount or no nicotine. Govt
has been testing product. This is meant as a smoke cessation
    cigarette.
