- BP says all the major new units associated with the modernization of its 413K bbl/day Whiting refinery in Indiana have been brought on stream.
- The upgrades allow the refinery to process heavy, sour crude at more than 80% of its feedstock slate; before the project, the low-quality crude could represent only ~20% of the refinery’s feed.
- BP expects the ability to process mainly heavy crude, including bitumen from Canada, will deliver an incremental $1B of operating cash flow per year.
