    Retail Sales may be higher, that's because most retailers have 50% to
    70% off, its the bottom line that counts. JCP, Sears/Kmart survival might depend on how well they do this Christmas Season. Just walk around the malls lot of vacancies.

    Agree, however, many companies are just hiring as on as needed basis (temp/part time) full time employment is still hard to find. Companies will state that people are unskilled, this is misleading, for example, If an unemployed accountant has SAP FICO, but the company he is interviewing has JDE one world, the company won't hire him/her because they want someone with JDE one world, and then say the person is unskilled. Companies are also resume hunting, willing to hold off hiring waiting to see who is out there, if they find no one the job ad disappears for a month then the company reposts the job.

    @mrdirt

    I can see that. I just think it's funny when I see random posts from people saying that there are just part-time jobs available and no quality full time jobs. I never see quantifiable numbers, just random charts with percentages that state a higher percentage of job positions are part-time positions. I also never see what those positions are in.

    I remember that my first professional position (in the career path I am still in) was technically part-time even though I worked full time hours. It was part-time due to a grace period so they could lay my arse off if I didn't work out. That begs the question how many jobs out there are 'grace period' part-timers until those employees prove their gruff.
