Red Hat guides largely above consensus, shares +11.5% AH

Red Hat (RHT) guides on its FQ3 CC for FQ4 revenue of $397M-$400M and EPS of $0.36-$0.38, largely above a consensus of $394M and $0.36.

The company notes EMEA sales bounced strongly following a soft FQ2, and made up 29% of revenue (up from 23% in the prior quarter). The Americas accounted for 55% (down from 60%), and Asia-Pac 16% (down from 17%).

Demand was strongest in the government and financial verticals. Plenty of companies have struggled with soft U.S. federal demand this year.
