Cooper Tire & Rubber pulls out of merger with Apollo Tyres

Cooper Tire & Rubber (CTB) terminates a merger agreement with Apollo Tyres to end a contentious legal tussle between the companies.

The deal between the tire sellers to create the 7th largest tire company in the world and add value creation of over $100M per year soured almost immediately amid labor issues, regulatory concerns, and disputes over Cooper's books.

this is a big black eye for Apollo in my view. The basic idea for buying cooper was a good one...they got nit picky and walked away. I think the energy revolution not only continues in the USA but is picking up speed...that could make Cooper tire an even more valuable company going forward....especially given how weak the dollar continues to be.
