- Jesper Oversen, the head of Nokia's (NOK -1.1%) mobile/wireline infrastructure unit (NSN), plans to step down after the sale of Nokia's Devices & Services unit to Microsoft is completed. NSN CEO Rajeev Suri will remain in place.
- Stephen Elop and many other Devices & Services execs are already set to leave Nokia for Microsoft following the deal's closing.
- Excluding the Devices & Services unit, NSN accounted for 90% of Nokia's Q3 revenue and non-IFRS op. profit. Thanks partly to order lumpiness and divestments, sales fell 7% Y/Y during the quarter to €2.6BM, and op. profit 33% to €218M. Many expect Nokia to use part of its $7.2B Microsoft windfall to strengthen NSN via acquisitions.
