- Target (TGT), already slammed by one of the largest ever payment-data security breaches in U.S. retail history, says some of the gift cards it sold over the holiday season were not activated properly.
- TGT promises to honor the gift cards and says fewer than 0.1% of the cards sold during the busy season were affected.
- "It's another black eye that makes you question the internal operating procedures of Target," says Belus Capital's Brian Sozzi, adding TGT "can't afford to lose any more confidence among its guests."
