Warner Bros. ends 2013 on top

Warner Bros. (TWX) led all movie studios with a global box office of $5.035B in 2013.

The studio had 8 separate films earn over $100M including Gravity which was a major surprise with a $668M haul.

Perhaps most importantly, Warner Bros. avoided any major duds along the way which cost the parent company hundreds of millions of dollars in write-offs.
