Philip Morris downgraded on impassioned industry slam

Philip Morris (PM) is tagged with a Sell rating by Standpoint Research from an analyst who admits he would like to see the "annihilation" of the tobacco industry.

The impassioned comments from Ronnie Moas focus more on the tobacco industry as a whole than any biting analysis of Philip Morris.

ronnie is a completely useless idiot.

sell stocks for moral reasons? It's all about profit, not morals.

Same firm issue a sell rating on $AAPL for moral reasons as well. Wonder what they think of $RGR and $SWHC. LMAO!

An analysis is suppose to be impartial and assess the value of the stock from a financial standpoint and make recommendations. Ronnie Moas is not performing his duties and should be reprimanded for not performing his job.

I suggest we all write to Standpoint Research and suggest Mr Moas be counseled for his poor performance.

Thanks ronnie, I'll be buying back my covered calls, yet again for 10 to 20 cents on the dollar and selling new ones as soon as someone figures out you're wrong (again).!

This could be more than sheer incompetence or personal conscience. It could be as bad as an ulterior motive. If this guy is associated with the anti-smoker groups (and his own statements lend themselves to that possibility) then he's acting as their shill in his capacity as an analyst to manipulate the public and the market in regard to this industry. He'd be using his position to advance a group's agenda: the war on smoking.
