Analysis: Big holiday season for GameStop

  • News that Microsoft sold over 3M Xbox One consoles signals a good holiday season for GameStop (GME -2%), surmises Wedbush.
  • The investment firm thinks GameStop had 40%-50% of the sales in the U.S. which when added to global purchases means the retailer moved around 1.65M-1.8M Xbox One consoles.
  • GameStop reports holiday sales on January 14 with analysts all over the place on where they think comparable-store sales growth will fall for the period. Anything over 10% could spark a rally.
