Rise in Italian unemployment belies optimisim about eurozone

Italian unemployment rose to a fresh record of 12.7% in November from 12.5% in October and topped consensus that was 12.5% as well.

Youth unemployment hit 41.6%, also a new high.

The figures show that if the eurozone economy is recovering, as some data indicates, it's all still very very fragile.

The FTSE MIB is +0.8%. (PR)
