Kandi surges on document purportedly certifying vehicles in California

  • Kandi Technologies (KNDI +9.5%) shares spike on a document that purportedly shows the Chinese EV-maker has received certification from the California EPA for its vehicles. A caveat: the document appears to have been signed in Oct.

  • This is for ATVs and off-road vehicles (such as Go-Karts). Good news but probably of less significance than most investors think.

Kandi sold ~$13.4 million in ATVs and Go-Karts in Q3 2013.

  • I believe the joint venture shares in the EV rental program (only), and they fully own the cars for leasing and sale operations.

  • Settle down everyone....... Kandi has been selling Go-Karts and ATV in the US for about ten years now. If you look at the document from California - it very clearly states that this is approval for Kandi to sell an Off-Highway Recreational vehicle, the Vehicle Category says that this is an (ATVA) - All Terrain Vehicle. I don't think Kandi will be selling EV's in the states for a couple of years anyway.
