U.S. employment growth seen slowing slightly

  • U.S. employment data for December is due out this morning, with economists estimating that the number of nonfarm payrolls increased by 196,000, slightly less than the rise of 203,000 in November.
  • The jobless rate is expected to have held steady at 7%.
  • As ever, the data will be analyzed to death to see what it means for Fed policy.
