U.S. won't renew deal with contractor CGI for Obamacare website

The U.S. government isn't renewing its contract with CGI Group (GIB) to oversee key parts of the Obamacare enrollment website, HealthCare.gov, which struggled with technical problems when it launched in October.

CGI's contract was set to expire Feb. 28 but included options to continue work for as long as 18 months; the government reportedly will instead sign a new contract with Accenture (ACN).

Aside from the political crisis for Pres. Obama caused by the website's troubled rollout, critics also said the insider-driven contract with CGI was an example of crony government at its worst.

CGI is IT consulting company based out of Quebec, as all Canadian companies suck, this is no exception. Don't expect any quality work from any Canadian company. I know it and don't invest in Canadian stocks either I know that too. I got 3 stocks that are losing out of 23 winning - two losers are Canadian companies. My US company stocks are 100% winning - ALL GREEN. Remember, don't buy Canadian stocks, there are only very few exceptions to this rule such as Suncor, but that's about it. Don't buy into Canadian Oil Sand crap

Michells ol' Princeton pal? Sounds a lot like what Kwami Kilpatric did in Detroit.
Fed his pals contracts worth millions while the city got screwed.

Maybe Michelle ought to do some time. If we don't wake up and vote people like this out of office, we get just what we deserve.

Simple fact: CGI "won" a NO-bid contract, and the "cronyism" claim has some legitimate questions due to a contact of Michelle Obama's.

Accenture is hardly much of an improvement, sadly. Accenture subsists by feeding off government ineptitude. To presume that Accenture will improve the website debacle is optimistic. At least the squandering of taxpayer funds will be domestic. You can rest assured that Accenture will develop this into a long term gravy train with miniscule improvements, at best, each contract year while promising greater improvements sometime in the future.
