Omer, what do you think of the offer? Do you think they will take it? Do you think there will be any other counter bids?

Hard to tell. Can't find too much info on the Chinese company making the offer. The market clearly doesn't think it's in the bag either, since AM trading was @ 5.50~ ish. Fluctuated from $6.5 to $4.8. Volume during the trading day / management response will clear things up. If THIS offer is legit (big IF), counter bids would have to come in quickly, as the offer expires pretty quickly as per the PR. Newmont and Goldcorp are the only majors who can really make decent sized purchases right now. Goldcorp just made a purchase, so Newmont would be the most likely counter bid (if there is any).

So long as ANV trades around $6, I'll be happy. I have a lot of options. Will be my biggest homerun or a huge tease if the offer wasn't real. I think ANV can run much higher than $7.50 in the medium term if gold cooperates. If i was a long term shareholder, I'd prefer to get bought by Newmont or Goldcorp and get a mix of cash and stock, so I get upside in gold.

No way Allied would/should accept that offer, its a joke. A year ago the shares were $30. $7.50 should probably be their floor.

Had to refresh my computer screen three times , thought I was still asleep . Best run U.S. gold mining company , breaking all records last two quarters in production . Think we'll see A.N.V. above 12.00 by early summer . Great call Omer .

Calling a takeover is seldom a winning call; but you nailed it this time Omer! Well done. I expect this will be positive for other deep value mid-cap miners like DET or IAG. I can see some spill over joy going heir way.

The offer news hit the web in a strange way. The long halt and lack of ANV comment or confirmation smells like mischief...

Thanks for the "tip" Omer on this one....unfortunately I'm holding 0 shares now. I began reducing a few days ago with a 25% upside and am now completely out. THIS STINKS!

Can't always get it right that's for sure, any any investor that says their always on the right side is either a rookie or a liar.

Looking at the consolidated accounts of 09/30 :

if you add current assets, buldings, lands ( without counting the ounces!), equipment and substract long term and short term debt, you find a value of 700M$.

So in fact, the value given by the chinese company is euivalent to the liquidation value, but without counting the 20M of ore ounce and reserves...

    It' very very very cheap!

ETF Holdings of ANV and how do they vote?

I found this website that shows the total holdings for all ETF's of any stock. Very interesting! Does anyone know how an ETF votes their stock? Are they excluded from voting? Interesting ethical question. Here are the details and the site. (Enter the US version for ANV, leave your cursor in the entry box and push the actual "enter" key to activate. Won't work with just the mouse). Great for looking at all your holdings. Number of ETFs Holding ANV: 21 Total Market Value Held by ETFs: $50,479,991 Total Market Capitalization: $419,000,000 % of Market Cap. Held by ETFs: 12.05% http://bit.ly/KgZVUr

I would question whether they are legit. How can they be investigating ANV for agreeing to the buyout when they don't have a clue whether ANV even heard about it before today?? Shameless.

Sounds like the law firm is just hoping to score some easy legal fees , ANV has not agreed to a sale .And there's plenty of time for counter offerers from others .

+9% is not unchanged. I would have preferred +75%, but +9% isn't bad!

I Called CB Capital on the # on the original press release. I Was told the Press release was indeed legitimate and that they would release something more soon. That's all he told me. I gave him my name, number, and email. When in doubt, call. I should have pressed for more info, but I doubt they could have told me anything.
