- Nissan (OTCPK:NSANY) took its moment in front of the press at the Detroit Auto Show to announce it will double production of the electric Leaf to 3K units a month in order to meet expected demand.
- Steep price cuts at the end of the year were needed by Nissan to boost Leaf sales last year, but this year it expects a rapid increase in charging stations to help stoke sales in regions previously uncovered by the charging network.
- The automaker also debuted its Sports Sedan Concept at the show. The vehicles is expected to closely resemble what the next version of Nissan's Maxima sedan will look like. Auto enthusiasts see it adding some vitality to the model.
