Senate fails in attempt to renew aid for long-term jobless

Senate leaders have failed to come to an agreement over extending benefits for the long-term unemployed, partly due to differences over financing the aid and how long the extension should last. Political machinations seem to be a factor as well.

The Senate is now not likely to revisit the issue, which effects 1.3M people, until late this month. The old benefits expired on December 28.

Sorry people out of work, I guess you'll have to try harder to find a job. I'll be interested to see data on this one. I predict unemployment rate falls.
