Viacom launches customizable TV channel

Viacom (VIAB) plans to launch a TV network in the U.S. that parents can control content on.

Customers of Verizon's (VZ) FiOS will be the first to get crack at My Nickoledeon Junior while Viacom works out deals with other Pay-TV operators.

Both Verizon and Viacom think the idea of programmable content will keep it competitive with streaming services.

On Netflix: "There's no reason they should own that space—we should own that space," says one Verizon exec.
