Beige Book sees moderate economic growth in most regions

  • The U.S. economy continues to grow at a "moderate" pace, according to the Fed's Beige Book.
  • Two-thirds of the 12 districts reported increases in hiring, wage and price pressures were seen as contained, and some service-sector firms are planning to raise selling prices in the near term.
  • Commercial real estate was strong, all districts saw improvement in manufacturing, most districts reported increases in home sales, and most reported increases in retail spending.
