- TransAlta (TAC) says it formed a joint venture with DBP Development Group to construct, own and operate the $178M Fortescue River natural gas pipeline from the Dampier to Bunbury natural gas pipeline to TAC's 125 MW dual-fuel power station at Fortescue Metals' Solomon hub.
- The pipeline is expected to be operational in early 2015, with construction of the 270-km pipeline to begin in July.
- TAC has a 43% interest in the JV.
