Asian stocks are mixed amid what appears to be an absence of any major catalyst.
Japan's Nikkei closed a relatively calm -0.4% after experiencing some wild swings this week. "It’s a lot of short-term investors that are moving the market today," said Mizuho's Yoshihisa Okamoto. "Earlier in the week they came in short, then yesterday they had to cover those positions, and once they bought back enough today, they're now taking profits and selling."
Hong Kong +0.4%, China flat, India flat.
