Emerging market contagion hits futures


A major selloff in emerging market currencies looks to have triggered continued declines in equities, with S&P 500, Dow, and Nasdaq 100 futures -0.7%.

Europe's off 1.7%, led by Italy -2.8%. Asia was mostly lower overnight, led by Tokyo -1.9% and Hong Kong -1.3%.

Money continues to pour into fixed income and precious metals, with the 10-year Treasury yield off 5 basis points and gold +0.7%, silver +1%.
