Futures point to opening gains


Stocks look like they may open Monday with gains after last week's drubbing. S&P 500 (SPY) futures are up 0.4%, with Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) and DJIA (DIAahead by 0.2%.

Europe's off moderately and Asia was off sharply in response to Friday's plunge in the West.

The 10-year Treasury yield is up four basis points to 2.76% and gold is ahead marginally to $1,266 per ounce.

    Bcos the Friday chatter of France downgrade turned out to be a FAT lie. Also this above about China restriction of bank transfers another BIG lie. Some people just planting lies to either enhance positions or attract click ratings. Pathetic. Let no one confuse you with conspiracy theorems ...global economy is on the mend and just starting. The world is too big so there will be issues in some areas from time to time.

    Agree..Today will mark the end of this short term correction.

     

    There are no real reasons for a fundamental correction of the markets worldwide. Technical corrections are another issue though, and we should expect for these to occur in a normal market uptrend.

    bullish or bearish all media outlets are in the ratings,ad clicks and web page views biz, some of em are both on the same days. Demographics and marketing is how they pay their bills not investing or trading; either way works out for them.
