Rent-A-Center -13.5% AH after Q4 results "most challenging in years"


Rent-A-Center (RCII-13.5% AH after missing Q4 earnings expectations by a wide margin - $0.25 EPS vs. $0.74 analyst consensus - missing on Q4 revenues and guiding FY 2014 earnings below consensus.

For 2014, RCII sees EPS of $2.30-$2.50 vs. $3.17 consensus, revenue growth of 4.5%-7.5% which computes to $3.24B-$3.34B vs. $3.32B consensus.

Says it continues to face "meaningful headwinds" in its domestic business, and its core U.S. segment customer agreement growth in December was "the most challenging in years."
