Homebuilders boosted by D.R. Horton results

The homebuilders have their tails in their air following D.R. Horton's big earnings results which showed reports about the end of the housing recovery may be premature (DHI +8.5%). The company reported average sales price gains of 10%, orders by value up 14%, and the value of properties under contract up 20%.

"Our weekly sales pace has accelerated in January," says Chairman Don Horton.

    Will short ITB if/when it gets to 25. Although, it's tempting to pull the trigger now. Trying to control myself.

    I shorted TOL today @36.40, with the FED statement from tomorrow homebuilders are going to tank hard, if the FED continue with the taper the stocks will fall because of it, and if the FED do not taper homebuilders will also fall as the market will start to wonder if the recovery is sustainable. either way homebuilders are overvalue and have to go back to reasonable valuations.

    Now that the stock is up $2 plus ,he deleted his post
