Disney titles go to You On Demand


Disney (DIS +2.9%) says it will supply movies to Chinese VOD service You On Demand (YOD +12.8%) under the terms of a new deal.

You On Demand offers content to households in China through CCTV and has a fast-growing mobile app.

The content deal will include both old and new Disney titles.

    "YOU On Demand will now make available Disney's library titles including "Alice in "Wonderland" and "Pirates of the Caribbean," as well as popular Marvel library titles through its Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD) package. In addition, new releases such as "Thor: The Dark World" and "Saving Mr. Banks" will be available via its Transactional Video On Demand (TVOD) offering

     

    You On Demand has content distribution agreements in place with Paramount Pictures, NBC Universal, Warner Bros., Miramax Films, and Magnolia Pictures, as well as a broad selection of the best content from Chinese filmmakers. The company is currently in talks with Fox and Sony about cooperation."
