Glu Mobile jumps after Zynga buys peer

Zynga's $527M acquisition of leading mobile game developer NautralMotion is providing a lift to Glu Mobile (GLUU +5.9%), which has frequently been the topic of M&A speculation (some of it involving Zynga).

The move comes ahead of Glu's Wednesday Q4 report. 14.6M Glu shares (20.5% of the float) was shorted as of Jan. 15, providing ample fuel for a squeeze.

    I just don't get it, why short something which is only 3-4$ priced even if shorting it is relatively cheap? GLUU will report a stellar Q4.

    $GLUU will beat earnings estimates, no question. If they raise 2014 guidance stock will jump 50%.

    Is a bid of $3.50 a share to low. Or, should I raise it to $3.75? There seems to be resistance around $3.80. I would like to take a long position on GLUU.

    @Unclefunkel,
    I have a decent position with an average price of $3.85. With earnings due tomorrow I don't think it'll go that low anymore in the price range what you are seeking for. I'm expecting a Zynga type reaction when GLUU's report is out meaning that we hopefully should approach $5 in a few days and $8-10 during spring if the general market holds, anything else would be disappointing in my opinion considering GLUU. So I would recommend taking a position even at close to $4 while you still can. And of course you must take sole responsibility for your investment decisions, you can obviously listen to what your fellow investors do, but you take the final decision when your own money is in question. However all things point to a significant upside on GLUU.
