Widespread streaming for Sochi Olympics as digital advertising improves

NBC (CMCSA) plans to offer widespread streaming options to consumers for the Sochi Winter Olympics as it partners with Adobe on the initiative.

The network was criticized during the 2012 London and 2010 Vancouver Olympics for keeping too tight of a lid on video clips and streaming feeds.

An important distinction this Olympics was the ability of the network to place digital ads into the video on demand option and sign on advertisers in advance.

The time difference between Russia and the U.S. is expected to increase streaming and VOD viewing of the competitions.
