30-year fixed mortgage falls to 4.23%, Freddie Mac says

Fixed mortgage rates continue to drop, with 30-year fixed rates tumbling to their lowest levels since November, according to Freddie Mac's latest weekly survey.

The average rate for the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage fell to 4.23% in the week ending Feb. 6 from 4.32% in the prior week; a year ago, the rate was at 3.53%.

The average rate for the 15-year fixed-rate mortgage slid to 3.33% from 3.40% in the prior week.
