German industrial production unexpectedly falls

German industrial output fell 0.6% on month in December vs +2.4% in November and consensus of +0.5%.

On year, output +2.6% vs +3.8%.

The surprising drops adds to unexpected declines in German imports and exports, and could raise questions about the strength of the economy.

German investors seem to be unworried though, with the DAX +0.2%. The euro is -0.2% at $1.3566.
