• SA contributor/hedge fund analyst Always Incredulous observes You On Demand (YOD +38.1%) has an exclusive Chinese nationwide license for distributing pay-per-view/VOD content (covers 19.7M cable/IPTV households), and has deals in place with top U.S. studios such as Disney, Paramount, Miramax, and Warner Bros.
• The author likes YOD's willingness to price its offerings competitively with pirated DVDs, sees the company benefiting from Chinese cable and mobile video adoption - YOD has an app pre-install deal with Huawei, and is talking with other smartphone OEMs - and expects a $19M investment from Taiwanese hardware firm C-Media will give YOD plenty of time to turn profitable.
