MDM software firm MobileIron reportedly prepping IPO

Bloomberg reports MobileIron, a leading player in the growing enterprise mobile device management (MDM) software space, is working with Goldman and others on a ~$150M IPO. Sources provide a broad potential valuation range of $1B-$2B.

VMware recently bought MobileIron rival AirWatch for $1.54B. SAP, Citrix, BlackBerry, IBM, and private Good Technology also compete in this space. Gartner thinks the MDM market could be worth $1.6B in 2014, up from a 2012 level of $784M.

MobileIron was reportedly valued at ~$600M in a 2012 funding round.

The mobile iron valuation, whatever it ends up being, will serve as another indication of the value of BES which is severely undervalued by the market at present.

Doesn't make sense? With MobileIron we were able to move off of Blackberry, wouldn't part of MI's overall success be tied to migrations away from the BES?

We implemented Mobileiron to move off of the BEZ and blackberry. Wouldn't the success of MI add to the demise of bberry? And don't you think JC is there to do a transaction?
