Chips starting to fall in Charter's bid for TWC

Charter's (CHTR +0.7%) next move in its strategic positioning for a Time Warner Cable acquisition could involve Comcast (CMCSA +0.3%), sources tell the NYT.

A proposed deal would see Comcast acquire some of TWC's metropolitan regions, including New York City.

Speculation on the Comcast-Charter arrangement has been floating around for a few weeks, but talks have progressed rapidly over the last few days.

There is still the matter of the deal price for TWC: Analysts think a "bear hug" approach of flooding the board with candidates won't be enough. The $132.50-per-share offer will have to be raised.
