Mondelez International sees margin improvement coming

Mondelez International (MDLZ) sets some long-term targets during its presentation at the Consumer Analyst Group of New York conference.

The company expects profits to grow at a double-digit pace in terms of constant currency as margins come in line with peers.

The snacks category is expected to fuel much of the growth.

The snacks category is the highest profit margin area in food sales, yet MDLZ snack sales is slowing. How hard can it be to get the entire Third World hooked on sugar, fat, salt, and caffeine? I had such high hopes for this company, but alas: Mondelez is dead money.

The food category in general has been suffering lately. CAG, SJM, KRFT, all of them.
