MasterCard and Visa press on with mobile payment technology

  • MasterCard (MA +0.3%) and Visa (V +0.2%) are both out with new mobile payment technologies which will allow retailers to integrate payment solutions into their apps in a more secure fashion.
  • The development is likely to take a while to roll out as security features are vetted, but could lead to stronger growth for near-field communications as a form of payment in retail settings.

When these 2 giants , V and MA, start with these new payment technologies they will further own more of the retail world.

Exactly why we should support other services, e.g. like Square, which now lets you send ($250 max per week default) cash between people for free, and charges merchants less then V or MA, about 2.5% I think. Or Palpal, or Amazon's coming service. ANYBODY but V or MA.
