Hoping to quash a New York Post rumor to the contrary, a Cisco (CSCO) exec says his firm is committed to the set-top box market, while adding Cisco is working with carriers to deploy its Videoscape solution for delivering cloud-based video. However, a Light Reading source also claims Cisco is shopping its set-top unit (albeit "selectively"), as it deals with growing competition and price pressure.

    Apple should be the buyer. They could deprecate the current SA platform, then use the business as a platform for a launch into the living room (replacing the meager AppleTV). Apple is all about the consumer, providing content, in a easy to access and enjoy way.
